This is a video by Epilepsy Foundation of America that gives tips on how to manage seizures from a lay bystanders perspective. Itsa great video that stresses some of the main points with managing a seizure. It can be quite shocking seeing a person in conic-tonic seizure for the first time. The video does a great job stressing the importance of staying calm and highlights what to do and what not to do and when to call for help.
Thanks for the informative video on how to keep patients having tonic clonic seizures safe. Smendik
We discussed this a little bit in the one conference call. It is essential as the health provider present to take control of the situation if a family member is not present to do so. We may have spoken briefly about the education of others including other health professionals who may have heard the myths about how to take care of an individual who is having a seizure and don't understand that they could do more harm than good if not very aware.
