Car#406 (Formally #76)is too old for competition and will be parted out.

Car 76 was designed and built from scratch. Only new components were used, this was very costly to make it but it was built with pride.

With the great weather we have been able to test drive the cars more then ever before. This has allowed us to make adjustments to the car. We purchased 4 new batteries this month.

We have been working on repairing the steering on car 76. The welds were very weak and allowing the rack and pinion to move, creating a jerking effect while steering. The welds have been strengthened and the chain re-enforced. This should greatly improve the steering.

We have removed the old rear end and are tearing it down to recycle. We designed the new rear end shell so that it's more aerodynamic. Hopefully this will help us to run longer without having a whole lot of drag on the back. We rebuilt the front nose cover which was originally fiber glass. We used a simple design bending flat steel and covering it with painted plastic to make it look nice.

December 1, 2011 update:

Our plans are to rebuild the back end or shell of the car. Each year we try to improve the accessibility to the rear of the car where the motor, controller and wheel is located.
