The Poway Symphonette
Artistic Director, Ulli Reiner
"Our mission is to make classical symphonic chamber music accessible to fellow
performers and to audiences of Poway and its surrounding areas."
Offered through the Poway Unified School District Adult Education Department, founder, concertmaster and manager, Ulli Reiner, includes community members, retired professional musicians, high school students, music educators and retired ameteur musicians. Rehearsals are on Monday evenings at Tierra Bonita Element
The Poway Symphonette, was created for musicians that desire the smaller chamber orchestra ensemble experience. We specialize in music of the Baroque and Classical periods of music history and feature string players of all ages along with wind players on our concerts. Our performances take place at St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church in Poway located on Pomerado Rd, the Incarnation Lutheran Church in Poway and also at local libraries and retirement communities in the north county area.
The Poway Symphonette has performed in China and in Europe at major concert halls under the direction of Artistic Director, Ulli Reiner.
In the summer of 2023 the Poway Symphonette traveled to Austria and performed at the prestigious Cantus Festival in Salzburg, Austria having been invited for the fourth year in a row and is listed as the "Orchestra in Residence" for the festival. If you are interested injoining our future performance tours as a musician or just to travel with our group please contact Artistic Director, Ulli Reiner for additional tour information.
The Poway Symphonette will return to Europe to perform in the beautiful city of Budapest, Vienna and at the
Cantus International Cultural and Music Festival in Salzburg, Austria in the summer of 2025!

All prospective and continuing orchestra members must register for the class each term. High school students are also welcome to join our orchestra.
