As the new school year begins, I wanted to re-share some thoughts.
Parents of high schoolers - I know that budget cuts have hurt school districts in many ways, especially with college-planning resources. If you, or someone you know lives in a district that had to cut its college/career counselors, or if you just have a lot of questions, I would be happy to set up an information session before the major application deadlines arrive.
Some basic things you should know - Common Application, FAFSA, SAT/ACT requirements, merit-based vs. need-based financial aid, AP vs. accelerated vs. dual enrollment credits, requirements for attending a school out of state and the difference between scholarships, loans and grants.
If all of these things make sense, continue. If not, ask someone SOON. Don't miss out because you had bad information or none at all.
I am perfectly willing to give a presentation at no charge for people who need it. I can also answer individual questions here, or by phone or email.
