IRVWA - Meeting Minutes – May 30, 2006
Cronk Law Office, Shoreline, WA
The annual meeting of IRVWA was held on Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at 6:00 p.m. at the Law Office of Jerry Cronk, 17544 Midvale Ave. North, Suite 107, Shoreline, WA 98133. Vice President Taryn Gearhart presided, and Secretary Paul McClintock was present. Other members present were Rich Anderson-Connolly, Cary Thomas, Brent White and Joe Szwaja. The minutes of the December 5, 2005 meeting were approved as read.
Rich reported that the Pierce County Charter Review Commission will vote on June 8th regarding putting IRV on the December ballot, and that the vote could go either way. Kelly Haughton, Libertarian, is a member of the CRC and has been a great advocate for the case for IRV in the county charter.
Taryn reported that the I-318 petition signers for Pierce County is in a database on the Yahoo group in the files section, and another database is there for Whatcom County. Rich will consider sending postcards to the group urging them to call or email the commissioners in support of IRV.
Taryn moved that we invite Kelly Haughton to join the IRVWA board. Approved.
Treasurer Jerry Cronk reported that we have $4079.82 in the primary bank account, and $331.60 in the Olympia account. Taryn wrote the Olympia bank to close the account and sent the proceeds to Jerry, but Jerry has not received it, so Taryn will check with the bank.
Jerry reported that $17.40 was paid to Cary for the web site, and $10 for the annual incorporation report filing; these were the only expenses since the last meeting, and there were no deposits since the last meeting.
Elections were held for the officers. Joe Szwaja was elected President; Rich Anderson-Connolly was elected Vice President; Paul McClintock was elected Secretary; Jerry Cronk was elected Treasurer.
Jerry moved to send $500 to FairVote. Adopted.
The next meeting was set for Monday, June 19, 2006 at 6:00 p.m. at Jerry Cronk's Law Office.
The meeting adjourned at 7:16 p.m.

IRVWA - Draft Meeting Minutes – June 19, 2006

The IRVWA board held a regular meeting at 6:22 p.m. on 2006-06-19 at Jerry Cronk's Law Office, 17544 Midvale Avenue North, Suite 107, Shoreline, WA, 98133. Present were president Joe Szwaja, vice president Richard Anderson-Connolly, secretary Paul McClintock, treasurer Jerry Cronk, and Brent White. The minutes of the 2006-05-30 board meeting were approved as distributed.
Jerry reported a balance of $4079.82 in the regular account and $356.60 in the Twin County Credit Union checking account.
A request/offer from Gabe for a joint campaign/IRV literature distribution effort was turned down because we are nonpartisan. Rich agreed to give him our reply.
Rich reported that he has invited Kelly Houghton to join the IRVWA board, but that Kelly declined due to his busy schedule. Informal discussion was held on forming a board of endorsers or an advisory board.
Joe suggested that we have Angelica make an IRV movie.
Rich reported that the Pierce County IRV effort needs a graphic artist, yard signs and fliers.
Jerry moved that the IRV web site be modified to include a promotion urging contributions to IRVWA to assist the Pierce County IRV campaign; approved.
Joe and Brent agreed to draft a message to be broadcast via email.
Paul agreed to research electronic meetings in RCW 24.03.
Joe suggested that we have house parties to promote IRV.
Jerry announced that he would be out of town for three weeks, 6/23 - 7/8.
A meeting was tentatively scheduled for 7/17 at 6:00 p.m. at Rich's home.
The meeting adjourned at 8:09 p.m.
