Virginia Project Learning Tree Refund Policy

Virginia Project Learning Tree offers professional developments around the state so that educators & education support professionals are empowered to use the PLT materials & curriculum. Those materials & curriculum are available for sale on the national PLT website, but PD participants receive the materials at a reduced cost—an average of 60% markdown for participants—thanks to generous grants from the Virginia Forestry Educational Foundation.

PD in Virginia is always offered for eleven dollars unless the cost is being covered by the school division (in those instances, the fee is $10 per person); in instances where the cost is higher, the partner hosting the workshop may be offering refreshments, museum or park access, or other perk as a part of the training day. In general, registration for professional development events begin four to six weeks before a workshop will be held. Registration closes seven to ten business days before the event is held so that the facilitator & the state coordinator can properly prepare book orders & supplies.

Fees must be paid prior to the PD event. Should a participant wish to pay by cash or check, those must be received by either the facilitator(s) or the state coordinator before the PD begins.

Through the registration site, Odoo.com, PLT Virginia can automatically process refunds to the original form of payment a person uses to register.

Virginia Project Learning Tree will offer a registration fee provided a registrant cancels their registration before the registration deadline so that Virginia PLT has an opportunity to fill the opening created by the cancellation.

Virginia Project Learning Tree will offer a credit for a future PD event should a registrant need to cancel within the seven-to-ten-day window after registration closes and before the event is held.

Should a participant be a “no show” on the day of the workshop, neither a refund nor a credit will be issued.

This refund policy will be made available on the PLT website . Disputes may be submitted in writing to the Project Learning Tree Steering Committee c/o Lesley Newman lesley.newman@dof.virginia.gov.
