# Introduce About Self?
Basically I'm from Ernakulam Dist, Kerala. I'm currently working with A2hosting, one of the top Webhosting companies. I have been there for 4+ years. There my designation is Migration specialist. There my main responsibilities are migrate customer Websites, EMails from their external servsrs to A2hosting server and bring them online.
I have total of 13 Years of experience in Linux Administration and Apache. Otherthan that I have good experience in Vitualization, MySQL, scriting etc. I'm still very passionate about working in this field and the IT industry. If I got hired here, of course, I will be an asset to your company. Also it will be a great opportunity for me to grow my professional skills along.
# How challenging your current Position?
Of course, it is a really challenging position, since most of the customers are choosing migration to a new Host maybe because of their bad experience or support with their old host. So they may have been nervous while contacting us, and it is really challenging to keep them calm and complete their tasks on time. But After the successful completion, it is really satisfactory.
Otherthan that email migration is Bit challenging in this field, since if they only have IMAP access, it is really a time taking process. But recently we implemented a new tool imapsync, to automate that migration via shell. Thats saves lot.
Also, comparing to my previous positions, this designaation is little calm. I was in operations and as you know we should be more vigilent on the service and server uptime. If any down time or attacks ahaappend we should manage that quickly.
# Why do you demand such a huge Hike?
Actually Sir, Im deserving that. As you know I have 13 years of experience. Also, Im a Hardworking and Fast learner always loves to lern new thngs.
Also, I continued this position so far as it was verymuch required to be here in with my Family as My father he was a kidney patient and I he wanted me to stay with him. That time A2hosting offered me this WFH position and it was a great relief and I was able to take care my father. Unfortunately he is no more now, but because of that descition I was able to stand with my father at the time of his demise.
# Biggest Challenge in Work?
When I was working at Operations Department, a server got crashed due to some Hardware failure. Unfortunately I was on leave that day. Our ccollegues and managers tried almost all possible things to fix that issue but failed and atlast they started recovery process from remote backup servers. But it was running very slow and shows an ETA of 6days to complete. I heared about that issue when I returned back to office next day. As a last resort I requested DC admins to try to mount old system drives with new server fortunately that worked and we were able to initiate sync from drive to drive. That completed very quick. Thaat saved our lot of times and able to resolve customers issues quickly. and I got appreciation from manager
# Have you Worked with Vmware?
yes I used Vmware to manage virtual mahine. Bu I diddnt geet chance to work on it in deep level VMware node setup. I used thet to manage Virtual machines onli. But I have clear idea about how to perform the nodeserver setup and configuration.
# Why do you want to work for us?
I feel that my current qualiications and experinces are better suitable for this posittion. Also it seems this position is very challeengig and it will help me improve my career groth also.
Also, I heared lot about your company and it is a very good company that value employees efforts and contribution. I would take pride in working under the great leadership of this company and I found this place to be a perfect fit for utilizing my expertise along with my personal growth.
# strengths
The mind to work hard is my greatest strength I think. Also, Im a self motivated team player and quick learner. Whatever task that I set to do, I always give my best and complete it diligently well in advance
#Weakness
I think Im always nervous for Public speaking and I think this is my weakness. Actually it is verymuch required in IT industry to present better in our meetings. To overcome this issue, I informed the manager of my current organization, so in all meetings he is giving me some time to make presentation(Actuallu the management is very cooperating in my current company) and I think Im slowly overcoming that weekness now.
#Why are you looking for a change?
The reason I am looking for change is that I feel like now is the time to expand my skillset. I have worked in my current company for quite a long time and while I am grateful for all the opportunities that were presented to me there, I want to go beyond my current role here, explore different avenues and take up challenging roles and I believe that your company will be the perfect place for me to push and grow myself.
#How would you rate yourself on a scale of 1 to 10?
I would like to rate myself an 8. 8 because I know that I am not perfect and there is always a scope for learning and improvement. Continuous learning is the most fundamental part of personal and professional growth.
#Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I would love to utilize all the opportunities that this company provides me to learn by utilizing the internal and external training programs. My ultimate career goal is to become a Technology Architect and hence I would look forward to working and Learning various technologies that represent the vision of this company
#How you manage Pressures
Throughout my career I managed lot of pressure situations. Most of tthen were when I was in operation department. But I actually love it, since in that time I'm always prod on my self
As you know in operations, we need to manage the service/server uptime. Some times in weeekends we had short of staffs in shift and I forced to handle the shift alone but some times multipleissues came together like DDOS attack, Server Down, Service Down etc. But in those times I managed those situations very well by prioritizing the work and wrote a short note about every issues to aviod confussions.
I think such situaation helped me improve the speeed and quality of my work.
# How to complete a work in 3days which should require 5days?
Normally it is not possible complete a 5days work in 3days time.
Firstof all I will inform the Manager how possible we can complete this and will request then for more man power in this if it is that much important to complete in 3days. If we have more man power we can reate a master plan by splitting the work and do maximum effort on it.
# WHat you do if a collegue doesnt work in shift.
Actually, it will be a serious issue for ourselves and the entire team our collegue doesnt work smart. It will make us overloaded and sometimes it may cause lot of issues like project delay and quality.
If such issues arise, of course, I will inform him first and will try to correct him. If he wwont obey I will inform my manager about that action for sure.
# How to deal with difficult customers?
I worked in Support Chat and Tickets and got many chance to handle lot of difficult customers. But most of those customers are getting angy because we didnt handle their issues or request that they expect. So How Im usually doing such situation is that. I will read his ticket/requests complete and understand it well and I take responsibility for that issue and give him a short reply by explaing these and these are your requests and we are on it. Thn I will try my best to do it myself. If it is out of my hand, I will escalate that issue with our seniors without of making any delays.
#How do you resolve conflicts within team?
Actually I didnt met such isssues in my entire career sofar. But if such isssue arrise,
I will understand the issue and situation first
Will talk with each persons and will try to make them calm.
Bring People Together.
