When creating your character, you may select any of the races presented in the Races subpage; this will help provide a setting and background for your character.
Available Material: All material will be drawn largely from the Player's Handbook, or anything available in the SRD, except when noted in specific sections.
Starting Level. Characters will begin at 3rd level in any one class.
Starting Ability Scores. Before racial modifiers, you will have the following ability scores: 16, 14, 12, 12, 10, 10.
Starting Equipment. You will start with the gear listed in your class description and your background.
You have an additional 50 gold with which to purchase any mundane (nonmagical) equipment.
You begin play with two potions of healing (2d4+2), one (1) common magic item, and one (1) uncommon wondrous magic item (not a potion, scroll, weapon, or armor). Items can be drawn from the SRD only.
You begin play with a customized magic item designed by the DM for you, based on his interpretation of your backstory. (Do not ask for anything specific or make suggestions; this item is DM fiat entirely.)
You begin play with a trinket. You will roll for this item randomly during session zero.
Races. You may select any of the following races. For more information about any of these races, refer to its specfic page, and any sub-pages, for setting specific information.
Classes. You may select any base class listed in the SRD or Player's Handbook, in addition to the Artificer class. Refer to the Class page for available archetypes or setting information for the classes. You may not multi-class, although multi-classing is available at any level past 3rd.
Backgrounds. Most backgrounds are available. Please keep in mind any regional or racial attitudes towards your selected background, as well as addressing a few questions.
Extras. Additional starting rewards will be granted based on exciting background stories that involve the setting information. These rewards might be additional starting experience, additional tool/language/or skill proficiencies, or additional starting gear.
Starting Status. You are an exceptional member of your race; smarter, stronger, and in all ways above average. How has this affected your early life?
Heroic Nature. Is there a suspected cause for your heroic traits? Were you made out as a paragon of virtues, or feared for your unusual abilities?
