Mindset, motivation, and self-directed learning
Why do some students persevere through challenges while others quit? How does purpose, mastery, and autonomy motivate learners? Does choice and voice impact student success? This course explores the science behind mindset and motivation and its impact on achievement and personal growth. Participants will examine strategies and techniques to motivate and foster a growth mindset classroom and empower self-directed learners.
This course will provide instructional leaders with the knowledge and skills to:
Understand the need to rise to the challenge of unfamiliar tasks and responsibilities; experiment, take risks, and seek resources to learn and grow and model all of these behaviors for learners
Create and support a growth mindset classroom/school
Increase intrinsic motivation and engagement to support and enhance personal, team, and classroom growth
Leverage tools and techniques to foster self directed learning for student and personal growth
