How can the environment (in a Gibsonian perspective) influence human behaviour? This initial question has guided my research interests since my degree in Psychology and Master in Human Engineering, passing through the PhD in Ergonomics until the most recent research projects in which I have participated. In the research groups with whom I have collaborated (e.g. https://ergoux.fa.ulisboa.pt/), we have been collecting evidence that the relationship between the environment and behaviour, is established at various levels. At more basic levels in the relationship between light, color, optical flow and perceptual responses to the movement of others (e.g. vehicle detection while driving). At intermediate levels in the relationship between the configurations of architectural spaces and decision-making in emergency situations. And at higher levels, in the relationship between the variables of the spaces and their elements and the emotional response of the subjects
