Vital Information

In the list below there are three must read documents. First "The Parsons History" by T. M. Parsons is a brief history written in 1892-93. Thomas Melvin (Mel) Parsons was a Jefferson County Alabama Commissioner from 1880 to 1889. Second, "The Parsons Family" by A.B. Parsons. This document corrects a major genealogy error about the descendants of Joseph Parsons that had existed since the 1940's. A. B. Parsons was a Lt. Colonel in the USAF and lived in South Carolina. Third, "The Many Joseph Parsons in South Carolina" is a research study that I have done. There were at least nine different Joseph Parsons living in South Carolina during the same time period. Part of the confusion on the Genealogy web sites is that they mix the various Joseph Parsons that lived in South Carolina during the same time that Joseph Garrett Parsons Sr. lived. This document helps clarify some of the confusion.

The documents are not easy reading but necessary reading.
