In addition to the Church Pant, there is a small pant and a trough in Canongate.
The small pant is in the field wall, left of the road leading to the kennels.
Wood's maps of Alnwick, dating from 1827, shows two separate pants in this location, labelled "pants". They don't appear on 19th century Ordnance Survey maps but by the 20th century there is a well shown here. By 1899, when ownership was transferred to the Duke, the associated legal documents show them in the form of a large trough, extending into the footpath, described as "bath and pant".
There is a trough in the retaining wall below the Parish Hall. Perhaps this is the original location of Church Pant before it was moved.
