Rosemala: Located about 15 kilo meters deep into the forest from Aryankavu, has the best experience nature has to offer. A small community of farmers live here. The fresh and calm air, greeney and quiteness you experience here are hard to find anywhere else. From many locations in Rosemala you can get great views of the Thenmala dam with a spectacular backdrop of the hills surrounding it. There are only a few homes in this village. So anywhere you look, all you see is lush green plants and trees. There are no roads or traffic for
several miles in radius. So the only noise you hear is the music created by nature.
Access: The location and difficulty to get there has been a blessing for Rosemala. There are no paved roads to get there and the village road to get there is very steep and winding at several places. Local people mostly get there by foot or some local private 4-wheel drive taxis that runs from Aryankavu. The 45-60 minutes drive to get here is through beautiful, thick forest and is really exciting. On the way you pass several mountain streams that has clean running water.
Lodging: There are no public lodging facilities available here. There are couple of people providing tents for overnight camping facilities. The best way to enjoy and explore this place to live with one of the local families.
People here are nice and good in hospitality. There are a couple of convenient stores and small restaurants where you can get essential supplies. There is no running water or electricity in this village. The water drawn from the wells are clean and tasty.
Activities: You can hike through the nearby mountains and forests. The water flows through the streams are said to have medicinal values. Take a bath in that after your hike. If you are not the hiking type, enjoy the nature and relax in a hammock under the trees. Whatever you do here, you will sure leave with a relaxed and energetic body & mind.
