Stream of milk - A beautiful waterfalls
Palaruvi: In Malayalm it means "Stream of Milk". It is a beautiful water falls located in Aryankavu, the eastern end of Kollam district in Kerala. It is about 300 ft. in height and protected by lush green tropical forest. The water that flows through the stream is coming from several small springs in the western ghat montains and is untouched by humans before it reaches the waterfalls.
Till very recently there was no road facility to reach the waterfalls from a major highway. Now tourists can reach upto 500m. away from foot of the falls by motor vehicles. The location and surroundings are maintained and managed by people from the local community. Kerala forest department's eco-tourism council oversee the committee that regulates and maintains the place.

Lodging: The waterfalls is deep into the forest and overnight stay is not allowed. There are a few lodging options nearby. Hotel Aaram operated by Kerala Tourism Development Corporation is at the junction of Kollam - Shencotta highway and Palaruvi road. Also there is resort right on the road to Palaruvi on the banks of the river coming from the falls.
