Aryankavu is at the border of Kerala and Tamilnadu. It is the nearest village center from both Palaruvi and Rosemala. It is home to one of the most popular Ayyappa temples in Kerala. The temple festival lasts around 10 days and is celebrated during Christmas time. One of the initial railroads in Kerala, constructed during the British rule passes through Aryankavu and has a kilometer long tunnel at the state border. It is also one of the
few remaining meter gauge lines in Kerala. A train ride through the winding hills on this line is unforgettable. Aryankavu is also famous for the teak plantations. The teak wood from this region is supposed to be the best quality due to the nature of soil and weather.
Tenmala, about 15 kms. from Aryankavu is home for one of the most popular eco-tourism initiatives in Kerala. Tourists can take a boat ride in the cool and clear waters of the dam. Also there is a musical fountain and aquarium. Both are of very high quality.
Courtallam is another famous waterfalls in south India. It is located in Tenkasi, Tamil Nadu and is about 20 kms. from Aryankavu. Achenkovil has another famous Ayyappa temple and is less than 20 kms. from Aryankavu. It has beautiful, lush, green forest and is ideal for trekking and hiking.
