May 2014 Cub Masters memo

We just closed out the month of April with a slightly different Pack Night, we introduced a Roll Coll for attendance and a Uniform Inspection. The inspection checked for all the basics to a scouts uniform, shirts buttoned and tucked in, den hat, neckerchief, neckerchief slide and some boys even proudly displayed their belt loops. The boys handled this change very well. This is something that several other packs already do. I feel that this will also help cut down on the "horseplay" that usually goes on with the boys in anticipation of a meetings start. Well, now they'll be working on fixing each others uniforms instead of playing "tag", prior to the start of the meetings :)

We were honored to have two special guests talk to the boys about the importance of The Uniform, Suffolk County Police Officer Lipp and Petty Officer Johnson of the Navy. It was a nice hands on lecture showing the boys the various items that are important to doing their jobs. The boys had a lot of fun trying out all the equipment.

In an effort to keep it fun, a reward was earned by the two best dressed Dens, The Tigers and Wolves were the happy recipients of a cool multi-tool at the end of the evening.
