The weekend of March 29th through the 31st, Pack 27 Webelos joined the Boy Scouts of Troop 27 for some Spring camping at Camp Yaw Paw.  We enjoyed great weather - the rain held off, and went fishing at Cannonball Lake and an afternoon hike up to Bear Swamp Lake.
The Boy Scouts cooked for the group and we had plenty of food including S'more's by the Saturday night campfire!  The Scouts even put on a skit for entertainment, and work towards their Communication's Merit Badge.

Thanks to David Hyde (father of Boy Scout Joey Hyde), for opening the doors of his Tae Kwon DO school and allowing the boys of Pack 27 to have an evening of fun, exercise and martial arts!

The night started with drawing the design of their choice on the wood boards that would come in handy later in the evening...

The boys concluded the evening of gymnastics and exercises with the breaking of Wood Boards!

Thanks again to David Hyde for his generosity and patient instruction of the Pack!

The boys of Pack 27 recently had Den and Pack meetings to cover essential skills from their Cub Scout books.  Den sessions included learning about snakes and what to do in case of a snake bite.  They also worked to identify various animal tracks (something they may use as we get snow).  Later in the Pack meeting they learned about knot tying and rope skills.  Lastly the boys assisted in building and taking down a four person tent.

McInerney and Officers Orsita, Graziani, and Surdyka were our gracious tour guides for a 'Safety' themed event.  It included history of the department, demonstrations of CPR, heart defibrillators, weapon safety (do not touch, tell a parent or officer), as well as the daily responsibilities of the police force.

The parents and Cubs of Pack 27 would like to thank all of the officers for their time and efforts in giving the Pack a wonderful tour!!!
