E. Current Event Assignment

Educating ourselves about what goes on around us is the only way we can formulate informed decisions. Following current events is the price we must each pay to sustain a thriving democracy. In addition to being a good citizen, current evens also help us build language, vocabulary, reading comprehension, critical thinking, problem solving, oral expression, and listening skills.

Follow this outline when doing your current events each week. To receive full credit it must be done according to this outline with each question answered. This assignment is due every MONDAY, however, I accept Current Events up until FRIDAY. Current Events are the only assignment that are not accepted late.

Directions:

Staple your article to the current event. Steps I-VI do not have to be in complete sentences. Economic students articles  must pertain to the subject of economics in some way.

III. Continent

IV. Two countries or bodies of water that border the country / state in your article.

V. Copy the headline

VI. List 5 important facts from the article:  (Underline the facts in the article)

VII. In 1-2 paragraphs explain the significance this current event will have on present day society. Then explain if this will affect history in a positive or negative manner and why?

Worth 10 Points Each

Be sure to explain using examples when writing your paragraphs.
