(Separation at the system level)
(Separation at the sub-system level)
The system has a property and the sub-system the opposite property.(Separation at the system level)
e.g. Metallic watchband (Both soft and hard): Sub-systems (components) are hard (not flexible);the system as a whole is soft (flexible)
We ‘borrow’ from the environment or super-system the appropriate element that has a value of a property that we need, and converge it into our system.
Ex: Add a helicopter (in order to fly) to a shoe (wonderful, but that does not fly) to get a flying wonderful shoe.
(Separation at the property level)
e.g. Size: ‘must be big and small’ becomes ‘must have a big area and a small volume’
(imitation, LIKE something; IMAGE of something)
(Separation at the property level)
e.g. How to measure the length of python that cannot be safely touched by hand? It could be dead in order to can measure it with a rule but should remain alive since we don’t want to kill it. We should measure something that has the same length property of the python, that is ‘like’ the python, an image of the python. i.e. measure the picture or the old skin after moulting.
(Separation at the property level)
e.g. Size of balloon, big and small:
We can change the size of a balloon by increasing its pressure but it is impossible since the compressor is not powerful enough. We can increase the temperature inside balloon instead of increasing the power of the compressor.
(Separation at the value level)
e.g. Size, Big and small:
A boa says ‘Measured by parrots (more than 38 parrots) I see myself bigger than measured by monkeys (less than 12 monkeys)”!
