Ted Hogan

Third term expires 6/30/2026

Ted started on the MRFHA board in July 2018 and was elected president in 2020. His cabin on Tract O Lot 11 has been in the family since 1939 when his grandfather was issued the first permit for the lot and shortly after built the original cabin. The cabin is now enjoyed by the 5th generation of family.

After spending 15 years in education, most of that time at international schools in Istanbul, Bangkok, and New Delhi, my wife and I decided in 2002 that Bend would be the ideal place to raise our children. Initially in Bend I stayed home for several years until our kids were in elementary school. I’ve always had a passion for woodworking so I launched a one-man cabinet and furniture business that kept me busy for the last twenty years. Our family has always spent time camping and hiking and one of our favorite places to camp was the Metolius

River basin. Naturally we dreamed of owning one of the cabins along the river,

but it never seemed like it was in the cards. In May of 2023 we were fortunate to be able to pool our resources with our extended family and secure our little

piece of paradise.

Meggins retired from a 36 year career in financial services in 2019. In addition to serving as the Board Secretary of MRFHA she serves on the Board of Directors of the Freshwater Trust and the Patrons Advisory Council at Literary Arts in Portland. Meggins enjoys spending all of the time that she can with family and friends at their cabin on Tract E, hiking, painting and reading.
