In 2008, tv personality Billy Brownless went to the Carrum Football Club to do a segment for the Footy Show. During the interview he asked the Carrum Football Club spokesperson, “Where did the name Carrum Cowboys come from"? The reply went something along these lines, “A bunch of old fellows used to ride their horses around here”!

On hearing the reply, a decision was made by several people to tell the true story about, 'The Original Carrum Cowboys.'

So began the journey to trace the original members of the Carrum Cowboys and write down their tales. After many hours of talking, an idea was conceived by the writer and some members of 'The Original Carrum Cowboys.' Together they agreed that a website would best document their stories. These actual accounts have been told by some of the members of ' The Original Carrum Cowboys.'
