As part of the course, "Organizational Sustainability of Social Change Organizations," the researcher analyzed C.E.O. Women, a non-profit microenterprise organization based in Oakland, CA that seeks to improve the conditions of immigrant and refugee women through teaching ESL and entrepreneurship skills.
Through the lens of organizational sustainability, the researcher analyzed the ways in which C.E.O. Women seeks to achieve their vision. The following aspects of C.E.O. Women were analyzed:
Vision and preconditions that need to be in place in society in order to achieve the vision
Value proposition using the Hedgehog Concept matrix, outlining the organization's core competencies, passion, expertise, and resources
Value Curve Framework that illustrates the organization's programs
Organizational Support Systems using the Ansoff Matrix that analyzes the organization's funding sources
Strategic Allies Analysis
Each analysis builds on the previous one, and in the end the researcher reflected on what social change organizations can learn from C.E.O. Women's model.
