About arrive to the climbing areas

From October 14, 2025, there will be a fee to enter the climbing areas of Margalef by car. The Town Hall has installed two barriers: one to enter the Pantano area and another to enter the Ermita de San Salvador area.

The barriers are located at: 

• Area del Pantano (Embassament)

• Area de la Ermita de Sant Salvador

The price is €5 per vehicle per day. The same code grants access to both climbing areas. Entry on foot or by bicycle is free.

Other drawbacks:

• Since November 2025, roadworks have been underway on the access road to the Ermita San Salvador area. Access by car is not permitted, even with payment.

• About  Area del Pantano, you can park during the day at the reservoir area, but camping is not allowed. This is a bit unusual. If you have any questions, please call the Town Hall.

At the El Pont campsite (in the village of Margalef), you can stay for free without a reservation. The toilets are open, but the showers are closed. This is also a bit unusual.
