Jacquese Armstrong is a poet/writer/speaker residing in Central New Jersey. Her work has appeared in GFT, For Harriet, Black Magnolias Literary Journal, SZ, Linden Avenue Literary Journal, Ourselves/Black (formerly Black Mental Health Network), Blackberry: a magazine and Anchor Magazine among others. She earned a B. A. in Journalism from the University of Toledo, Toledo, OH.

Jacquese is the winner of the Naomi Madgett Long Poetry Award; as a result her new book, blues legacy, was released in February 2019.

Her chapbook which deals with mental health challenges and healing, dance of the shadows, is available at GFT Press.

She received an Ambassador Award for promoting wellness and recovery and reducing stigma through the arts from the State of New Jersey Governor's Council on Mental Health Stigma in 2015.
