Post date: Jul 8, 2014 1:34:23 AM

Hello Neptunes!

Whew, what a weekend! Just a quick recap then it’s on to the last three weeks of the season (already?!) which are very busy… seeGONEPTUNES.COM for all the information.

NEPTUNES WIN THIRD DUAL A MEET vs. the DAMASCUS DOLPHINS!

By a score of 484 to 386, the Neptunes outscored the Dolphins in our 4th dual meet of the season. In a show of exceptional teamwork, some swimmers’ families adjusted their vacation schedules to make the meet. We had some very close races, one of which was the girls’ 14U 175 freestyle relay to close the meet, where our girls came from behind to place first and third, very narrowly missing second place by just 8/100ths of a second. Congratulations to all our swimmers for their efforts towards a well-earned win!

2014 Meet Results

The Neptunes are in second place in our division, with one dual meet and Divisionals coming up the next two Saturdays, both at North Creek. Let’s keep up the momentum!

TWO B MEETS THIS WEEK!

1) TOMORROW JULY 8th AT NORTH CREEK: sign up to swim by 8pm tonight at practice or http://www.thevolunteerspace.com/vol.cfm?ID=D7. Warmups are at 5:00. Theme is Red, White and Blue!

** Assistance setting up the pool during morning practice is much appreciated! **

2) THURSDAY JULY 10TH – B RELAY CARNIVAL AT WHETSTONE: sign up to swim by 8pm Wednesday at practice orhttp://www.thevolunteerspace.com/vol.cfm?ID=15X. We just need the swimmer’s name; not the strokes. Coach Nick will put the events together. If you didn’t swim in the A relays, sign up to swim in the B relays!

If you sign up to swim in a B meet, you have committed to be there. Please tell Fran Harmon as soon as you know if you won’t be available, particularly for the relay meet. Empty lanes mean a longer meet and aren’t fair to the volunteers or to a swimmer who may have to swim an event alone. Thank you in advance for your assistance!

Helpers for both meets can sign up here: http://www.thevolunteerspace.com/vol.cfm?ID=CB.

Note for level 3 and developmental swimmers: As you’ve been working hard all summer, building endurance and learning strokes, check with your coach to see if you’re ready to swim in a B meet! After this week, we have another one at Flower Hill on Wed 7/16.

ATTENTION PRETEAMERS! QUAIL VALLEY MINI-MEET SUNDAY 7/13, 5 PM

The mini-meets at Flower Hill, Quail Valley, and our own popsicle meet are designed so that swimmers of all abilities can experience a meet, from absolute beginner to level 3 and developmental. Teen swimmers are in the water to help the kids across the pool, and events for the youngest swimmers are less than 25 meters.

The next mini meet is this Sunday, July 13th at Quail Valley pool. See Coach Abby or any of the preteam coaches to see what events your swimmer should enter. Sign up here: http://www.thevolunteerspace.com/vol.cfm?ID=14S. Parents are needed to help time and line up swimmers before their events. These jobs are really easy and fun, and the mini-meets are a great place to learn.

NORTH CREEK LONG COURSE MEET – SUNDAY 7/13, 7:45 am

Please see the email sent Sunday with details on this important meet. Swimmers can sign up at practice with Coach Nick or online via the B swimmer signup link: http://www.thevolunteerspace.com/vol.cfm?ID=D7. Remember: the events are twice as long as usual, so if you normally swim a 50, you’ll swim a 100. Sign up by Friday, 7/11.

This is a fun meet and lots of North Creek helpers are needed. See our website for more information: Long Course 2014. Contact meet manager Tom Vetter with questions. http://www.thevolunteerspace.com/vol.cfm?ID=CB
