1. Registration and payment information
Registration is online only this year. We will not be accepting paper registrations.
After your registration is received, please return to the Neptunes website here to make your online payment by clicking the "Pay Swim Fees" button. Cash/Check will be accepted at the first practice
Please register ASAP, so we can plan practice groups/times.
All registrations and payments must be received by the first practice, or the swimmer will not be allowed on the pool deck.
2. Team vs. Pre-Team
Team - swimmers should know at least 2 strokes (usually freestyle and backstroke) and be able to swim one length of the pool unassisted. Team swimmers can compete in meets, but it is not a requirement.
Pre-Team - this is for our youngest Neptunes who are ready to learn to swim. They must be age 5 or starting Kindergarten in the fall. Pre-team swimmers will be grouped into 4 levels based on their ability. Some swimmers may switch groups during the season as their skills improve. We will schedule assessments at the beginning of June. These will be in water with the pre-team coach for about 5-10 min, to allow us to place them in the best instructional group. Groups vary based on registration but typically they are as follows:
Group 1 - for the earliest beginners, just starting to put their faces in the water.
Group 2 - can already put face in the water, ready to learn first swim strokes
Group 3 - can swim a couple strokes in freestyle, able to float on back
Developmental - this group is able to swim most of the way across the pool in freestyle and learning backstroke
If your swimmer swam in any Saturday meets in 2022, please register them for Team. Coaches will make adjustments as needed.
If you are uncertain what to register for please email northcreekneptunes@gmail.com

5. Volunteers and Officials
Did you know? The swim team is run entirely by volunteers. The only paid positions are the coaches and life guards.
Officials - We especially need meet officials, including stroke/turn, starter, and referee. If you were previously certified, it may be time to renew! Please visit http://www.mcsl.org/Officials.aspx, scroll to the bottom and choose North Creek to check your certification status. If it is listed as "Expired" you must attend one of the virtual clinics to recertify.
If you have never been certified, please consider signing up for a stroke/turn clinic. You do not need to be a swimmer yourself. You will learn what you need to know at the clinic. To register, visit http://www.mcsl.org/Officials.aspx and click "Officials Certification" in the column on the left.
Pre-team Rep - We are looking for 1-2 parents to help with pre-team. Primary responsibilities include helping to organize pre-team assessments and organizing the end of season mini-meet. Please email northcreekneptunes@gmail.com if you're interested in helping out.
Automation - We are looking for 1-2 parents to be back-up for our automation lead Melissa Porter. Automation means the person who enters the swim times into the team computer at meets, seeds the meets based on coach entries, etc. To learn more about automation visit http://www.mcsl.org/Automation.aspx
Timers, Clerk of Course, etc. - these positions require no certification and can be learned "on the job." We'll put out a call for volunteer sign up before each meet. For a home meet, we typically need about 25+ parent volunteers. For an away meet, we usually need about 15+ parent volunteers.
