What is involved in the trade-in program?
In the meantime, I placed a quarter under the chime: the striker hits it and knocks it into the chime. Ding! Not as melodious as it should be, but it sure is a quick fix.

I tried to approximate your instructions. Still just a dull click of the piston not quite hitting the chime. I think this is a hardware problem rather than a software problem.

Hello,
Thank you for your email. I am so sorry to hear about your clock. We no longer have a retail location in Boulder. The Digital Zen Alarm Clock it needs to be occasionally rebooted. It is like a computer - in fact it has a computer chip in it. So...please try taking out the batteries and unplugging the clock – make sure the display goes blank and then just try plugging the clock in with the adapter (do not put the batteries in again just yet) – the computer chip sometimes needs to be rebooted. Then try making your clock chime in hi vs. lo. The complete manual is on our website; here is the link: http://www.now-zen.com/productinfo/pdfs/DigitalClockBook.pdf. Please let me know if this solves the problem. Keep in mind that rechargeable batteries do not work in our clocks and you can’t close the lid constantly. . Please let me know how I can be of further service to you. We do have a trade-in program I can tell you about.
Have you tried these steps:
Clock should chime after 10 seconds.
Sincerely,
Laura

Subject: Striker not striking
Dear Customer Service:
My Digital Zen alarm clock no longer chimes when on the low setting. There is a faint click, and I can see the striker piston move, but it falls short of the mark. If I tip the clock at an angle (to provide a gravity assist) it chimes, but this is not practical.
The clock still chimes normally on the high setting, but that is a bit too loud for my therapy clients. Can it be resonably repaired?
Bridget Hayes
