We've been moved on by Google for loitering too long on Google Pages. Some of the site format may have changed but I'm hoping the content is all still here.

Microwave Modules. I bought a MM4001K RTTY Transceiver at a recent rally (US: hamfest). I was attracted to the RCA VP601 keyboard that came with the unit. Total lack of documentation on this , I've asked in several places but I suspect MM were reluctant to supply anything apart from the basic operating instructions.

There's interest in reviving UK Packet Radio on other social media sites and I've advertised these pages over there. The first issue I see is that your average modern PC doesn't have the old RS232 serial port so you need to get one working via USB. You'll probably hit the fake Prolific chip issue along the way. Just buy FTDI chipsets, if you're using Windows they'll remember the COM port number. If you're using Linux then search for /dev/ttyUSB0 upwards. If you're using a Mac I can't help you as I baled out at Snow Leopard.

Some spare time and revived enthusiasm means I have dug some of the packet/multimode TNCs out of the attic and pressed them into service! Mainly for RTTY and NAVTEX weather monitoring and the occasional VHF baud packet.
DATONG Archive is currently down due to a permissions issue with the new Google Sites (wish I hadn't let them convince me to move it). If you are searching for anything specific you can contact me on the address at the bottom of the page.

I'm slowly starting to part with some of this stuff as I need to de-clutter. Please contact me if you are interested as I can ship locally in the UK or US (lower 48). Everywhere else at cost. Sales currently suspended as it's currenly impossible for me to ship or travel during this awful pandemic.

Still the "Trailing Edge of Technology" collection lives on. I've aquired some MFJ1278 bits including two working controllers. Also more Kantronics Data Engines and some Pacomm Sprint 9600 TNCs. I can't believe we're still here on Google Sites.
3rd November 2010
Updated the Old TNCs and KAM pages. I really need to re-format everything as Google broke stuff when they moved me from Sites to Pages.
10th March 2008
I've started a section for Microwave Modules information.
2nd February 2007
I've closed the old NTLworld site.
There is a new page for links to tech manuals offsite. If you'd like to add anything please contact me below.

I've moved from my old site at http://homepage.ntlworld.com/nickb333.
Google Pages make the site easier to manage plus I now get 100MB of storage space to play with. This should allow me to organise stuff better as I can split it across multiple pages.
The Datong Archive has been moved to its own site at datongarchive.googlepages.com as it outgrew the old NTLworld site!
Before you go and look at the stuff you came here for, can you help me in my search for the following?
Kantronics HOSTMASTER II+ V3.4 disks and manuals. Thanks to a kind reader I now have version 3.3 along with the manuals in PDF format.
Thanks!
