Thanksgiving Food Drive
The fine-arts department, Tri-M Music Honor Society, and National Honor Society are collaborating to support 8 families for Thanksgiving. Please view the SignUp Genius to sign up and claim items to donate!

Those are the things we NEED. There are also other items that you are welcome to purchase to help out at other times throughout the holidays. We aren't doing a sign-up genius for these, but you are welcome to bring them in as well. The sign-up genius is the first priority though.

Bushy Bear Dash
The Bushy Park PTA has just reached out to us with a service opportunity! The Bushy Bear Dash is taking place on Saturday, November 15. They are looking for volunteers to help with set-up, on-course safety and route directions, water stations, and clean-up.
The event is from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m., and centers on a 3-K and 1-Mile fun run starting in the bus loop at Bushy Park Elementary School (14601 Carrs Mill Rd. in Glenwood), continuing through the Old Bushy Park and Glenwood Middle parking lots before returning to Bushy Park.Â

Glenelg High School Hack the Colosseum Volunteer
Hey NHS! Hack the Colosseum needs volunteers!
We’re hosting our annual student-led hackathon on October 17th from 9:30 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. and need volunteers for setup, judging, mentorship, marketing, and run-of-show support. Prior experience in CSP or a higher-level computer science is a plus!
The hackathon will take place at the Howard County Library System - Elkridge Branch.

Indian Cultural Association Diwali Mela
NHS members volunteered at the Indian Cultural Association's 6th Annual Diwali Mela. Volunteers helped set up, register, face-paint, and much more! We thank everyone involved in making this event such a blast!

Children's Cancer Foundation Banquet
With over 120 attendees our wonderful community raised over $1500 towards the Children's Cancer Foundation. Thank you to all our volunteers, performers, donors, and the NHS Executive Board for organizing this beautiful event!

Children's Cancer Gift Bags
Our members donated and assembled over 100 gift bags for Nonprofit Organization Kits to Hearts. These bags were filled with necessities such as Liquid IV, face masks, ginger chews, protein bars, dental kits, and more!

MLK Jr. Food and Diaper Drive
Each year the Howard County Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Commission collects for the county's most vulnerable residents.Â
Glenelg HS won 2nd place in the county for donating over 500 lbs!
We collected over 40 boxes of pasta, 350 diapers, and 80 canned goods!

Nov - Dec 2023:
Gift Bags for Cancer Patients
Our wonderful members donated over 40 bags of candy, 15 fidget toy sets, 20 packs of colored pencils, 80 coloring books, and 30 stuffed animals. Everything collected is being sent to the children receiving oncology treatment at Mercy Medical Center. Thank you so much to everyone who contributed!
