Bike Sunday ride to Boston - Sunday May 31

Have you ever thought about biking from Newton to Boston, for your commute or just for fun? Maybe you felt that the route was too intimidating or just too long? While we run a monthly group commute to Boston for Bike Fridays throughout the spring and summer, here's your opportunity to try it without the stress of getting to work at a particular time or dealing with changing clothes. This is a family-friendly ride, starting on a quiet Sunday morning, with a stop for lunch on the Esplanade. If a one-way ride is enough, the commuter rail can take you and your bike back to Newtonville or Auburndale in the afternoon, or you can ride back with the group.

Here are the details:

We will begin assembling at Newton City Hall at 10:00am. Come early for a quick bike tune-up before we push off! We'll also pick up waiting riders near Watertown Square at the Laundry Brook footbridge at 10:30am, then bike along the Charles River all the way to downtown Boston. The river will be filled with rowers. Bring a picnic lunch or buy it from Charles River Bistro (which also has restrooms nearby). After lunch and some games, we'll turn around and head back.

We're going rain or shine! Bring your helmet! Any questions? newtonbikeped@gmail.com
