Although a picture similar to this could have been taken today on a New England tourist railroad, this photograph was taken in 1941 on one of the many excursions from Boston that visited the HT&W in Vermont. It was the destination of the first fan trip in the US in 1935. Gondolas carried the passengers, which included the author during a trip from Boston over the B&M and the HT&W in the mid 1950s.
