9-Aug-2009 Ralph Gonzalez. The reunion was yesterday, hope the hangover's aren't too bad! ;-) Please put your thoughts about the reunion on the 30th Reunion page, as well as any feedback on what might improve the next one? Also help us expand the new In Loving Memory page.
1-June-2009 Tina (Wilkinson) Madanat. Anyone needing a hotel room may want to check out the Courtyard Marriott at UofD. It is a great facility and conveniently located off of New London Road. The Courtyard Marriott may also be agreeable to setting aside a block of rooms for the Class of '79 at a group discounted rate. See http://www.udel.edu/hotel/.

03-Feb-2009 Ralph Gonzalez. I sent out the announcement for our 30th reunion.
12-Dec-2008 Ralph Gonzalez. I spoke with the park office for White Clay Creek State Park. They have a pavillion at the Carpenter Recreation Area location on Rt 896 (New London Road) which will hold 150, and we can spread out blankets for the overflow. The pavillion has a large BBQ grill and you may bring additional gas grills. Alcohol in bottles and cans is permitted, but music is not. The fee for reserving the pavillion is $130, so we can cover this with our remaining treasury. Hours are limited to 8am to sundown, about 7:15PM in early August. They will be taking reservations on Jan 1.
I suspect that a full day at the park including dinner and beers will be enough for most people, but we can also start a discussion for one or more places to meet up in the evening or people can do this on an individual basis. Any thoughts?
05-Dec-2008 Ralph Gonzalez. Tina Madanat (Wilkinson) also suggested a happy hour style reunion (appetizers plus cash bar), EG rent out the upstairs at Klondike Kate's on Main Street. I am told we have $182 left in our treasury which could be applied toward such an event. Anyone have any further thoughts?
05-Dec-2008 Ralph Gonzalez. It looks like we are going to do an informal BBQ, probably at White Clay Creek State Park. Date will be Saturday, either July 25, Aug 1, or Aug 8. I would like to pin this down soon so I can make a reservation. We have leftover funds which will cover the reservation cost I believe.

If we go with the BBQ idea then I think we don't need any up-front
fund collection -- we can make it a bring-your-own potluck thing.
Also there may be some funds leftover, I don't recall!
We should get moving on it this Fall because you may have to reserve the
venue early.

Tina (Wilkinson) Madanat mentioned that she had received erroneous emails about a 30th reunion for 19-April-2009 -- this appears to be due to confusion with Neshaminy High School in PA. Perhaps classmates.com has the mailing lists mixed together? Anyone else have this problem?
I think we will target August 2009, and will send out a mailing and request for volunteers this Fall...
4-Oct-2007 Ralph Gonzalez. Any preferences about how to do the reunion? Full-blown evening gala or simple (cheap) afternoon in the park? I think we have a much better contact list going into it so we don't neccessarily have to use a professional organizer (though reunioncentral did a good job in 2004). A lower cost might include some people who didn't turn out last time... I guess when it gets closer we can do a mailing to get a consensus but in the meantime what are your thoughts?
