Radical Hospitality
Radical Hospitality: Radical Hospitality in our personal walk with Christ begins with an extraordinary receptivity to the grace of God. In distinctive and personal ways, we invite God into our hearts and make space for God in our lives. We say Yes to God and open ourselves to the spiritual life. We accept God’s love and acceptance of us. We receive God’s love and offer it to others.
Exploring Disciples:
• Ask friends and neighbors their opinion and faith story.
• Engage in discussions about faith in a variety of settings: work, home, with friends, etc.
• Invite friends and neighbors to explore with you. Pray for God to open doors to extend those invitations.
Growing Disciples:
• Articulate your own faith story through conversation with others. How did you come to faith in Jesus Christ? How did you first encounter Jesus Christ? What were some of your hesitations? What did you do next?
• Begin to invite friends and family to join you in worship services or at other church events and experiences.
• Notice new visitors to our church and welcome them. Introduce them to two other people and connect them with a small group.
Close to Christ:
• Contact the office to follow up with a recent first-time visitor
• Prepare and convey your faith story in a group setting, such as in a small group meeting, on video, or in person during a Sunday morning worship service.
• Practice turning conversations toward a spiritual focus, creating more intentional opportunities for you to share your faith story.
• Continue inviting people to worship and other church activities.
Committed to Christ:
• Become comfortable inviting others to faith in Jesus Christ.
• Inspire others to reflect on their own story.
• Help others to articulate their faith story in preparation for sharing it with others, either in conversation or in a larger presentation.
