Little Lambs Teachers Job Description
We seek a passionate and dedicated Daycare Teacher to join our nurturing environment at Little Lambs Daycare. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care and education to children in a daycare setting. This role requires a strong understanding of childhood development and the ability to create engaging learning experiences for toddlers, preschool-aged, and school-aged children. Little Lambs Daycare Teachers are responsible for the well-being of the children in their care and play-filled learning throughout the day. The teacher will develop a schedule and curriculum to keep children busy and engaged during the day.
Duties:
Ensuring the children have good hygiene and changing diapers as necessary
Cleaning interactive areas or children’s bathrooms throughout the day
Giving breakfast, lunch, and snacks during the day and ensuring eating areas are cleaned when complete
Organizing activities and developing curriculum for older children if in the school-age area
Keeping a schedule for the children to maintain throughout the day to ensure exercise and outdoor times are included.
Include Christian education in their weekly activities, using stories, crafts, media, or other creative methods.
Keeping records of each child’s progress, interests, and any problems that may occur
Maintaining contact with the children’s parents and contacting the director to ensure there is communication with them in the case of an emergency
Other duties as assigned for the safety of the children and the program’s success
Qualifications:
Previous experience in childcare settings such as daycare, preschool, or nannying is preferred.
Knowledge of toddler care practices and childhood development principles are essential.
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues.
Ability to create engaging activities that promote learning in a classroom setting.
Patience, compassion, and enthusiasm for working with young children are crucial attributes.
Certification in CPR/First Aid is a plus but not required at the time of application; training can be provided.
Teachers must be able to stand for 30-45 minutes at a time as required to supervise playground and outdoor time, specifically
Must complete a physical, TB testing, and a background check with Safe Gatherings training
Pay:
$13.75 an hour. (It will increase January 1 to the rate of min. wage).
Benefits:
There are five paid PTO/sick days a year and two set weeks of paid vacation during which the entire center is closed for positions above 30 hours a week (part-time positions have other benefit scales). One week is around Christmas, and the other is in July.
