For a third year Nemesis Works was thrilled to perform in the streets of Glasgow at the 2016 Christmas Carnival.
With a Renaissance theme, the troupe brought some Early Dance to Buchanan Street with the assistance of various members of the public who joined in Branles and Farandoles (albeit to a rather anachronistic soundtrack) then the performers danced through the city centre as part of Glasgow's biggest Christmas parade to date.
As always thanks to Bridgeman Arts for inviting us to join in the fun again.

Nemesis Works was delighted to be asked to return to the streets during the Westend Mardi Gras with a variation on The Bookman and the Babydolls for a second year.
A pair of carnival and Butoh inspired characters spent a fantastic day interacting with the spectators on Byres Road taking the opportunity to bemuse and delight with their own brand of mischief and mayhem.

Working in collaboration with Glasgow's Westend Festival and with a group of talented performers, Nemesis Works created a physical theatre piece inspired by traditional carnival characters and given a Butoh-esque twist.
This was performed with great success at the Westend Carnival as we interacted with the audience and caused mischief and confusion on our way.
STREETLAND STORYTELLERS 2013
Cast: Paul Richardson

For Streetland 2013, Nemesis Works devised a community arts storytelling project. Gathering memories from those living in the area, we created a series of postcards and posters using images by MonkeyTwizzle with excerpts of some of the stories shared. The final phase of the project was to offer a storytelling performance in small local venues to share the memories of contributors.

A site-specific work devised in the stunning surrounding of the Axolotl Gallery. Performing to an audience inside the gallery and to those passing by the windowed alcove, the theme of Altered Images was explored in a mix of Contemporary Dance, Butoh and Physical Theatre.
