Initial Rider Training (BRC)

Initial Rider Training is where to begin for new or returning riders, or those not sure if they want to ride.  The course consists of an online “eCourse” and approximately 12 hours of riding exercises in a controlled, off-street environment to introduce motorcycling in a low-risk manner.  The riding portion of the course is conducted over two days.  In this course, you will learn how to safely operate a motorcycle, with emphasis on judgment, behavior, and mental attitude necessary for riding in traffic.  The class helps you create your own strategy for riding, dealing with critical situations, and discusses how various impairments can affect your ability to ride safely.

This class meets the Air Force “Initial Training Requirement” listed in DAFI 91-207NOTE: If you are a licensed rider and have a motorcycle, you do not need to take this class, and can meet initial military requirements by completing Follow-On Training.

Prerequisites:  You should be able to balance and ride a two-wheel bicycle, and possess either a car driver's license or motorcycle learner's permit.  If you haven't ridden a bicycle recently, we highly recommend that you get some practice.

Motorcycles are provided for your use during the course, and helmets are available for use, but bring your own helmet if you have one.  The course concludes with skills evaluation, and successful completion serves as a license-test waiver program in Nevada and many other states.  A course completion card may also provide insurance and other discounts.

Once you have enrolled you will receive an email confirmation of enrollment into the course, and the other email around a week prior to class, containing a link to the eCourse and the password to login.  Please login with the same email used to register.  If you do not receive the emails, check our spam/junk folder, depending on your network or security settings.  Upon completion of the "ePackage 1" you must save or print your certificate and bring it with you on the first day of the course; an electronic copy is acceptable.  Those that do not have their eCourse completion certificates will not be able to attend the course ... *NO EXCEPTIONS*
