Global Read Aloud

What is the Global Read Aloud?

How does it use blogging?

How does it address literacy and connecting globally?

Reading and connecting globally to share responses to literature.

The Global Read Aloud (GRA) is a project that occurs each fall. Students from around the world read a common book and share their thoughts about the book, chapter by chapter, over a 6-week period. Blogging is one of the ways they share.

GRA14: I'm Here Paper Airplanes Around the World Project

When the Global Read Aloud came to a close this fall, many classes went beyond the project to continue to make connections. Here is an example of a video that was made that followed the "Paper Airplane" concept with students in 41 classrooms connecting. The students participated in the Peter Reynold's Author Study and created this video at the end of the unit.
