International solvothermal and Hydrothermal Association Conference (ISHA) Awarded “ISHA Lifetime Award” to Prof. Masahiro Yoshimura.
January 16, 2013, the International solvothermal and Hydrothermal Association Conference (ISHA) executive council unanimously selected Professor Masahiro Yoshimura, National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan & Professor Emeritus in Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan, for this prestigious award, in recognition of his unique and outstanding lifetime contribution towards research, development and production of materials by hydrothermal as well as solvothermal techniques. Also, this award is in cognizance of great leadership and entrepreneurship of Prof. Masahiro Yoshimura in all areas of solvothermal and hydrothermal technology. After receiving the award, Prof. Yoshimura delivered his award lecture “Feature and Future of Hydrothermal/Solvothermal Reactions for Synthesis/Preparation of Nano-Materials with Desired Shapes, Sizes and Structures” at the 3rd ISHA conference, AT&T Executive Education and Conference Center, University of Texas, Austin, Texas, USA.
The ISHA was established in 2006 by combining two important associations in Hydrothermal and Solvothermal communities. Prof. Yoshimura was one of the founding members and the first President (2006-2008) of ISHA. Prof. Yoshimura’s award in this year is prestigious, because it followed previous very senior awardees: Prof. Ruotum Roy (2008), Professor Emeritus of Pennsilvania State University, USA, Prof. Shigeyuki Somiya (2010), Professor Emeritus of Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan.
