I always experienced a yearning to acknowledge my responsibilities and reciprocate by contributing to the growth and development of our society. Years ago when I visited my son's school, I perceived that the best way to advance society is by fostering education and it was at that moment that the dream and vision of JIS Group Educational Initiatives was conceived.
Publishing departmental news letter indicates a continuous growth of not only the department but also the faculty and students.
I wish the best for all our students, and the members of the college who reiterate their aims at providing the best in academic and extra-curricular fields on excellent lines.

I must compliment the faculty, staff and students of IT Department, Narula Institute of Technology for carrying the dreams and aspirations of the founding fathers of the Institute by involving themselves in many research, training and policy advocacy activities that have been reported in the Newsletter. The Institute has been relentlessly strengthening its activities and focusing on the thrust areas. In 2012, more testing challenges await the Institute, and I am sure the IT Department, Narula Institute of Technology fraternity will not be found wanting in meeting them.

The idea of publishing the news letter keeps the surroundings aware of what developments are going on in a department. It not only encourages the faculties as well as students to explore their ideas but also provides recognition to their contribution to the engineering field.
I congratulate IT department for the initiative of publishing this news letter and wish that the content of the news letter increases not only quantitatively but also qualitatively every time it is published.

The Information Technology Department of this premierInstitute equips the students with practical based knowledge modelled upon developments in software technology and its application in the relevant fields, both traditional and emerging.We guide the students in proper direction amidst an atmosphere of open mind-set to make them inquisitive about the emerging technologies with sufficient theoretical and practical training enabling them to readily adapt themselves in the global market.
The I.T. infrastructure present at NIT consists of state-of-art Computer Labs with high speed internet connection. Professional liaison with leading Training and Research Institutes of thecountry are maintained for fruitful collaborations in emerging trends in the area of Information Technology.

ü WORKSHOP on Rational Rose
IT department of Narula Institute of Technology organised a Teqip Sponsored One Week Faculty Development Program on IBM Rational Rose Software Engineering for Educational Development (SEED) during 11th – 14th June, 2014.
ü ICCACCS (International CONFERENCE ON COMPUTATIONAL ADVANCEMENT IN COMMUNICATION CIRCUITS AND SYSTEMS)
An International Conference(ICCACCS) was organised jointly by the Department of IT and ECE From 30th October, 2014 to 1st October,2014.
ü LAB UPGRADATION THROUGH MODROB
AICTE has granted funds for modernization and removal of obsolescence scheme for one lab run by IT Department.

3.Arittra Pramanick participated and achieved 14th position in West Bengal in EXORSA (Photography Competition) organized by WBUT, Kolkata, in the year 2013.
