Incoming Research Associates: You've been admitted to the program... now what?
This page is intended to provide information for those who have applied to the NARAP program in Pullman and have been admitted.
Once admitted (you'll be notified by a Chief RA), there are a few items you need to complete and events you need to attend prior to beginning your shifts.
- Fill out the availability sheet provided by the Chief RAs. This will represent your general weekly availability for the term.
- Write your name in the next available row
- In that row, indicate whether you are available (green), maybe available (yellow) or unavailable (red) by highlighting the boxes associated with each shift
- Let the Chief RAs know which size of NARAP unisex polo you would like: small, medium, large, extra-large (if need be)
- Complete training by the National Institutes of Health and print off the certificate of completion, which you will bring to the NARAP training. Follow this link: https://phrp.nihtraining.com/users/login.php
- Send documentation of immunity to Measles, Mumps, and Rubella to Nicole Nolt at nicole.nolt@pullmanregional.org. Your documentation of immunity to Measles, Mumps, and Rubella may be
- record of two MMR vaccinations
- record of physician diagnosis of the disease(s)
- positive blood test for immunity to those diseases, as determined by a blood titre
- You must complete a TB 2-step blood test and bring a copy of the results to Nicole Nolt.
- Attend the General Volunteer Orientation at Pullman Regional Hospital. This orientation will be hosted by the Pullman Regional Hospital Volunteer Coordinators, so questions about this orientation can be directed to Nicole Nolt at nicole.nolt@pullmanregional.org.
- The PRH Infection Control Nurse will review your immunity records and must approve them before you can take your shadow shift.
- Attend the NARAP Training. You will be notified when/where this will take place. Bring with you:
- Your NIH certificate (number 3, above)
- A device through which you can access the internet to practice the surveys
- When you plan to shadow a Returning RA (number 8, below)
- When you plan to take your first shift
- Questions :)
- Attend a shift to shadow a Returning RA
- Once the schedule has been released and you are cleared by the PRH Infection Control Nurse, find a shift of a Returning RA during which you can shadow and contact the Returning RA to confirm that you will be attending.
