Applications to begin in Summer 2020 are now open until February 21st, 2020.
Application Packet
Complete the following components of your application packet and send all materials to chiefra.wsu@gmail.com by the deadline listed above. If you have concerns about emailing these materials, please let us know and we can provide you with instructions for how to submit hard copies; however, we prefer electronic records whenever possible.
- Completed Pullman Regional Hospital Volunteer application (download and fill out the Student Volunteer Application at the bottom of this page)
- Note: you do not need to complete your two-step TB (tuberculosis) test until you are accepted into the program. It must then be completed before you begin your shifts.
- Completed Background Check Form (download and fill out the PRH Background Check Form at the bottom of this page)
- Letter of intent, which is catered to this position, and includes how many terms you plan to be a part of this program as well as which pre-health field interests you. (Additional information in the sub-page.) This letter should be addressed to the Chief RAs.
- Letter of recommendation from your academic advisor, addressed to the Chief RAs, including:
- The range of your cumulative college GPA
- This should be listed in increments of 0.25: 2.5-2.74, 2.75-2.99, 3.0-3.24, 3.25-3.49, 3.50-3.74 or 3.75-4.0. Please do not send exact GPA.
- Your year or credits completed in college
- (It is generally recommended that you have a cumulative 3.0 GPA or better, and have completed freshman year of college.)
- A statement indicating they recommend you for the program.
- Note: This needs to be received by the deadline listed above - be sure to ask early to give your advisor plenty of time to submit the letter on your behalf. This letter should be sent directly from your advisor to the chief RAs.
- Note: If another faculty member is better equipped to speak to your qualifications (faculty mentor, faculty advisor, faculty with whom you are involved in research, etc.), a letter of recommendation from that faculty member is an acceptable substitute.
Again, please submit completed application components to chiefra.wsu@gmail.com.
Additional note, as of 5/21/2019: If you are accepted into the Fall 2019 cohort or later, there is a possibility that you will be required to pay $40 for training in Protecting Human Research Participants. We are in the process of determining whether or not this will be a requirement, but please be aware that this cost may be incurred.
