Mt El Sombroso (Sierra Azul)

Total elevation ascent = 3500’ (Google Earth), 3055' (Caltopo)

Lowest to highest elevation = 2200’

My Run/Hike time = 3.5hr

I was lucky to grab one of the 3-4 spaces in the small trailhead parking lot on Kennedy Road on a September weekend. This hike is a challenging workout for both trail runners and mountain bikers. The views on the way up are fantastic but you'll have to ignore the large power line towers at the summit. I took the Kennedy Trail straight up to the Woods Trail to reach the summit.
