20110502 Unseasonal Dry Spell

Early May 2011 was unkind to the park.

A prolonged unseasonal rainless spell dried the ground at a time when blooms and vegetation growth should have been accelerating.

That spelled a disaster for fruits later on in the year and contrasted sadly with the previous year of bounty.
