INJECTORS
As my original injectors were stuck and not very powerful I decided to get another second-hand injectors set. If I remember correctly the 20XEs originals are 214cc/min, I managed to get Saabs (also in GM brand) redtops 350cc. While MegaTune and TunerStudio software have injector testing ability I decided to make myself a little test-setup. Here is a picture of it in progress:
Purpose of the test is to make sure that every injector has same fuel misting abilities - visual check. And also to check that same amount is output from each injector. Also to make sure how the cc/min turns up?
COOLANT TEMERATURE SENSOR
The original 20XEs CTS has following parameters:
INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR
as there isn't such thing in original setup it has to be taken from other models. I use IAT sensor from Audis 1.8 litre turbo engine Bosch 0 280 130 085. I found a pdf (page 51) on web which has a diagram °C/Ω
From drawing it seems about so:
-10°C ~ 10kΩ
47°C ~ 1kΩ
130°C ~0.1kΩ
VARIABLE RELUCTOR (engine speed, crank angle sensor)
is positioned at 120 degrees before top dead centre (BTDC).
Thinking out loud:
Sprocket with 60 tooth has 6° per tooth. Missing teeth are #59 & #60. Count of teeth between TDC and #60 is 20. As it is result of visual inpection and not an official data - there is still need for timing storboscope for ign timing settings
MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE (MAP) SENSOR
this one is installed on MegaSquirts motherboard. On my experience it does not need any reconfiguration.
THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR
original TPS does not work with MegaSquirt as it is actually Wide Open Throttle on/off switch. Need is for potentiometer. I replaced it with 20XEVs TPS. It does require middle plate to position it right.
