MS2 & engine electronics on 20XE

I assembled my MegaSquirt2 v3 per instructions on http://www.megamanual.com. This was my first electronics project and worked out well - no mistakes made.

I'm running my EMS (Engine Management System) on four sensors -

• Intake Air Temperature (IAT)
• Variable Reluctor (VR) sensor on cranckshafts triggerwheel
• Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP)
• Coolant Temperature Sensor (CTS)
• Throttle Position Sensor (TPS)

There is also one extra sensor - Wideband O2 sensor, also known as Lambda sensor. This one actually does not take part in engine management with my configuration. It is just for informative purpose.

The EMS is used to control

• spark timing (Wasted Spark on twincoil)
• injection timing (Bank mode 2+2 (bank 1&2 + 3&4))
• Idle Air Control (IAC) valve (20XE original IAC is two wire Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) type)

It is essential to make sure that every sensor and valve is operational and to know the items parameters. For that purpose I ran some tests closely described here.
