Med School ADTs/TDYs

Active Duty Training

These are your annual training sessions that count as active duty service. You are required to complete 45 days of ADT each year of medical school.

Your first year requirement is satisfied by BOLC training, the second is covered by studying for boards at the end of second year and the rest are covered by rotations at military hospitals at the end of 3rd/beginning of 4th year.

Every medical school is different and has different academic schedules. If, for a legitimate reason, you are unable to complete an ADT during any particular year, there is a waiver that you may complete on MODS. See the Army HPSP handbook (also on MODS) for more information on this.

Temporary Duty Yonder

These are short-term trainings that you will do in residency and beyond! See the Residency and Beyond section for more.

Medical School Timeline (Same as the one on the Residency page)

***Disclaimer: DCC is a new, mandatory training that must be completed prior to BOLC. From what I have seen, the transition has been extremely messy as there is no time during medical school to complete both DCC and BOLC. I will update this timeline once a better system has been worked out.
