Edward Richard Vay
Edward was born on April 06, 1898 to Rudolph and Mary Vay. He was only 11 years old when his father died. Edward registered for World War I on September 12, 1918. At that time he was employed by T. H. Symington Co. on Barnum Street as a machinist.
The January 1920 census shows that Edward was 21 years of age and living at home with his mother. He was a bookkeeper in a railroad office.
As of the 1930 census Edward had continued at the railroad office. Eventually Edward contracted polio and became paralyzed so that he was confined in a wheelchair. At one point he lived with his brother, Joe and Joe's wife, Cecilia.
Edward passed away on May 31, 1985 and is buried in his father's family plot at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
