Assignment 2

Sources

This week you will have two tasks, and your main focus should be on adding primary sources to your subtopics.

  1. Find a minimum of three primary sources. One of these primary sources must be an image, but you could also include other types of primary sources such as a letter or diary entry. (See the Library of Congress Primary Sources Guide for more information.) Each primary source must be clear and high quality, have an explanatory caption, and credit the original source. You may explore how to embed the document or image directly on the page, and please also hyperlink to the source, if appropriate.
  2. Continue to add/revise information to your pages. This information MUST reference the primary sources you added. As you add and revise, be sure to think about:
      • What are the key pieces of information someone should know about this topic, such as important people, places, documents, images, and media?
      • Whose perspectives are important to represent on this topic? Who are you including in your narrative?
      • What are the controversies or disagreements, if any, that historians have about this topic?
      • What are the "unknowns" about this topic?
