<MEXT scholarship>
As you know, MEXT scholarship is based on Japanese national budget. Our country is suffering severe budget deficit now. And many Japanese taxpayers are not satisfied with the situation that Japanese have to accept a tax increase in the near future, while many foreign students are receiving MEXT scholarship. I strongly hope that you understand the responsibility for receiving MEXT scholarship and study hard.
You are supposed to visit Student Division and sign a document once a month in order to receive scholarship. But some of the students receiving MEXT scholarship in Tokyo Tech sign at the end of some month (for example, Jan. 31) and at the beginning of the next month (Feb. 1), and they go back to their country for the rest of the two months. Student Division says that if a MEXT student goes back to his/her own country for private reasons, he/she basically has to return his/her scholarship during the period.
Please read the following site for the procedures of receiving and extending MEXT scholarship. You have to keep good academic performance in order to extend MEXT scholarship.
