I was born in 1955 in Western Australia. My early childhood in Gosnells was spent climbing paperbark trees, exploring swamps, riding my bike and dreaming.
From my earliest memory, living in a typically Australian family, oldest of six children and with no exposure to art, all I wanted to do was to paint and draw.
At the age of 16 I went to study at Claremont College of Fine Art and a whole new world opened to me. Three years of bliss, I graduated in 1973, majoring in painting.
Over the next 20 years I continued to paint and draw and more importantly, to look. I traveled, married and had children and ran a successful business.
At the age of 45 I decided to close my clothing and screen print company, move to the hills and follow my dreams to paint, something that had been put on hold for so many years.
I have now been working as a full time artist for ten years. With little success and much frustration in the beginning I can now say that I am living my dream of working as a professional artist.
I paint every day from my beautiful garden studio in Mundaring, exhibit in many mixed exhibitions and one solo exhibition, each year taking my paintings to Broome, Margaret River, Brisbane and Port Douglas.
I draw images from my imagination, my past and present surroundings, my childhood, my travels within Australia and overseas and from my wonderful grandchildren.
My life is painting.
